1. The standard runway is 400 meters in length and shall consist of two parallel straights and two curves of equal radius.

Outside the weeding runway, the inside of the runway shall be demarcated by the protruding edge made of suitable materials.The ridge is about 5 cm high and at least 5 cm wide.

2. The length of the runway shall be measured at a distance of 30cm from the inside and outside of the runway.If there is no protruding edge, the measurement should be made at a distance of 20cm outside the mark line. Note:the “IAAF World Athletics Facilities Standards” Contains all technical information about runway structure, design and marking.

3. Track events of 400m and below,each player shall possess a lane divider with a lane divider width of 1.22 m minimum and 1.25 m maximum, lane divider width of 5 cm and lane divider width equal.The length of the first lane divider shall be measured in accordance with paragraph 2 above, and the length of the other lanes shall be measured at a distance of 20cm from the outer edge of the inside lane divider.

Note: lane divider width shall include right lane divider.

Runways are constructed on asphalt or cement foundations in much the same way as road construction.The flatness of the foundation surface is required to ensure that the thickness of the plastic surface layer is the same and the elasticity is even. The quality requirements for the foundation are as follows:
Slope: transverse <1%(curve 8‰, straight line 5‰, semi-circle 5‰), longitudinal <1‰, high jump area <0.4%, the surface should be smooth, smooth, smooth drainage.
Flatness: the flatness qualified rate is above 95%, and the 3-meter ruler error is 3mm.
Positioning: for accurate construction and marking, four semicircle tangent points and two center circles of the runway should be marked with firm and sharp markers.
Drainage: the drainage system must drain stagnant water two hours after heavy rain.In frozen areas, a geotextile buffer layer should be added between asphalt layer and gravel layer.Special waterproof treatment shall be made along the foundation of the drainage trench.
Strength and stability: the foundation shall have certain strength and stability, the surface shall be even and solid, no cracks, no rotten edges, and the joints shall be straight and smooth.Cushion compaction, compactness greater than 95%, in the medium roller after the pressure, no significant wheel tracks, loose floating soil, waves and other phenomena.
